# Are home charging, workplace charging and public charging all at the same rate?

Generally the charging is dictated by the available electricity infrastructure so Domestic home charging is typically slower and either uses 3kW or 7kW connections, Workplace faster chargers between 7kW and 22kW with Rapid 50kW Public chargers available on major road networks. In reality cars are infrequently charged from empty to full, so an overnight trickle charge is adequate at home, a few hours at work and a quick boost when on a longer journey.
